Need Space in Your Closet?

Folding laundry is bad enough, but when it gets to a point where the laundry has no where to go, that’s when it get’s bad. We have a few tips to keep your closet tidy and spacious for all the fun, new things you could buy.

1. Get some velvet hangers!

These hangers are slim and keep your clothes on the hanger! This keeps your clothes off the ground and where they belong. Not to mention, they look really clean lined up in your closet. I personally like the black ones, but you can choose whichever color you want!

2. Look into getting a tension rod

If your closet only has one rod for long things to hang, check out a tension rod to add in your closet to give some extra hanging space! These things are cheap and easy to install.

3. Exposed Fashion Rack

These are trendy right now! Having a hanging rack that is actually in your bedroom for bigger pieces such as jackets, coats, denim, and hats gets those bulky pieces out of your closet and into the open, giving you more space. The look of the stylish pieces on the rack in your room is a very aesthetically pleasing look that many people are doing now, regardless of if they actually need the space in their closet!

4. Chest of drawers in your closet

Utilizing a chest of drawers in your closet can declutter delicates, t-shirts, and some of the other items that don’t necessarily need to be hung. The chest can sit right under your hanging clothes or on a blank wall in your closet!

5. Shelf Dividers

If you have shelves in your closet, buying some shelf dividers is a great way to establish where things go. It’s great for socks, bags, sandals, and other smaller items that can easily just get tossed into your closet.

6. Shower Curtain Rings!

These can be used for so many things! Hang your scarves by them, jeans, purses, belts, you name it! Utilizing these squeezes those items together, really maximizing your space in your closet. Hooking your jeans on these by the belt loops lets them hang straight down, so pack them in!

7. PURGE, DONATE, TOSS

Obviously, the quickest way to make space in your closet is by getting rid of some items that are already there. While going through, make two piles: Donate or Toss. Purging closets can be hard, but once you start, it’ll be easier to keep going!
